Lithium Landscapes 1
Sonia Gil, Digital Collage 2022
Beyond the Metaverse, on the other side of the glare of the pixels, in the real world, South America, north of Chile, is the Salar de Atacana, where the world’s largest lithium reserves can be found. Because of the expansion of the digitalized world, the demand for lithium is growing. The region’s ecosystem is fragile, so it is important to promote sustainable development and contribute to the reduction of potential negative impacts and risks of lithium mining.
Today we find ourselves in the beginning of a New Era, so time is ripe to try and build a better future, not only a decentralized one, but also a more sustainable one.
